About Trident
Marketing is easier when you understand the product.
Trident is a boutique product marketing consultancy built for companies selling complex financial technology.
The Person Behind Trident
I'm Christian. I help complicated products make sense.
I've spent my career in financial services marketing—working across product marketing, channel marketing, digital strategy, lead generation, and go-to-market initiatives.
And I've learned something along the way: the hardest marketing problems usually aren't caused by a lack of tactics.
They're caused by a lack of clarity.
Who exactly is this product for? What problem does it solve? Why is it different? How should sales explain it? And what actually needs to happen for the market to care?
Those are the questions I like answering.
A Point of View
“The best product marketing doesn't make a product sound complicated. It makes the value feel obvious.”
Financial technology is full of sophisticated products solving genuinely difficult problems. But sophistication doesn't automatically create understanding.
Trident exists to bridge that gap.
We take the complexity inside a product and turn it into a story the right buyers can understand, believe, and act on.
Experience
Built inside
financial services.
Trident wasn't built from the outside looking in. Its perspective comes from years of working inside financial services organizations, where products are complex, buyers are sophisticated, and the path from product to revenue is rarely straightforward.
Product Marketing
Translating complex financial products into positioning, messaging, sales stories, and market-facing experiences.
Go-to-Market
Connecting product, marketing, sales, and customer needs around a practical strategy for bringing products to market.
Growth Marketing
Building digital experiences, funnels, campaigns, and programs that turn attention into measurable business outcomes.
How I Work
Strategy first. Deliverables second.
I don't believe in creating marketing for the sake of creating marketing.
Every deliverable should have a job to do—helping a buyer understand something, helping a salesperson sell something, or helping the business make a better decision.
Start with the business problem.
Before we talk about channels, campaigns, or content, we figure out what actually needs to change.
Get close to the product.
Good product marketing requires understanding how the product works, who uses it, and why it exists.
Make complexity useful.
The goal isn't to remove sophistication. It's to translate it into something the buyer can understand.
Build things people can actually use.
Strategy shouldn't disappear into a presentation. The output should help your team make decisions and execute.
Keep the ego out of it.
The best idea wins. Sometimes that's mine. Sometimes it's yours. Usually it's something we figure out together.
The Right Fit
Trident works best with teams building something worth explaining.
Fintech Founders
You know the product inside and out. You need help turning that knowledge into a marketable story.
Marketing Leaders
You have a strong team but need additional product marketing strategy or specialized capacity.
Product Leaders
You have built something valuable and need a clearer bridge between product capabilities and market demand.
Growing PMM Teams
You're building the function and need experienced thinking, structure, or temporary strategic support.
Beyond the Work
I like good ideas, good conversations, and work that matters.
Trident is intentionally small.
That's not a stepping stone to becoming a 100-person agency. It's a feature of the model.
Keeping the consultancy small means I can stay close to the strategy, work directly with the people making decisions, and care about the details that larger engagements can sometimes lose.
If we're working together, you're not getting passed down to an account manager. You're working directly with me.
